SmartSailor, the marine platform developed by Chimera Tech, received two awards at Seatechnology 2026, the technology trade show held at CarraraFiere on March 12 and 13. Both recognitions came from independent juries within the Italian marine-technology sector. The Qualitec Technology Award jury recognized SmartSailor's compact, plug-and-play device, self-powered by a solar panel, for bringing onboard sensor data to the cloud in real time, and noted that it can also "act as a 'black box'", with remote monitoring of the vessel and alerts on critical issues. What the awards point to is the platform's core idea. SmartSailor is built as a single system that brings together three audiences usually served by separate tools: the private owner, the marina and the boatyard. It starts from physical onboard data through sensors and NMEA integration, works cross-brand on any vessel regardless of builder, and stays accessible to an individual owner without enterprise contracts. It can be installed on both sailing and motor boats.
