Why: To provide you with the nautical management service (contract) and keep you updated on news (consent).
Where: Data is stored in Europe on secure AWS servers.
Cookies: We only use technical and Google Analytics cookies.

2. Data We Collect
The platform supports nautical management for Owners, Fleets, and Shipyards. We process:
Account Data
Personal information, email, company role. Required for access and security.
Vessel Data
Technical specifications, documents, deadlines, maintenance history. Required for the service.
IoT and Telemetry Data
Where an onboard device is present, we collect real-time technical parameters (e.g., voltages, temperatures, GPS position, bilge alarms) for monitoring and diagnostics.
Navigation Data
Google cookies for anonymous aggregated statistics.
3. Purposes and Legal Bases
Contract Performance
We process data to enable you to manage your fleet/vessel and coordinate maintenance interventions.
Product Improvement (Legitimate Interest)
As an innovative startup, we analyze technical and usage data (in aggregated or anonymous form) to train our algorithms and improve platform features.
Updates (Consent)
We send communications about news only if you have checked the relevant box.
Security
To protect the AWS infrastructure from unauthorized access.
4. Recipients and Data Transfers
Data is not sold. It is shared exclusively with:
- Technology Providers: AWS (Amazon Web Services), Europe region, ensuring data sovereignty.
- Analytics: Google (Analytics) for usage statistics.
- Operational Sharing: A vessel's technical data may be visible to other users (e.g., Shipyards or Charter companies) only if explicitly invited or authorized by the Owner/Manager within the platform for maintenance purposes.
5. Data Retention
Account and vessel data are retained for the duration of the contract. Raw IoT data is retained for a limited period (e.g., 24 months) for historical analysis, after which it is deleted or anonymized.
6. Your Rights
At any time you can request access, rectification, deletion, or portability of your data by writing to privacy@chimeratech.it.
